A Charming Dutch-Decorated Chinese Pot and Cover
A small Chinese pot and cover of reeded form dating from the period c1720-30, with later Dutch decoration of figures in a landscape setting, with windmill and other European-style buildings. Height including cover 7cm (2.8"). Provenance: from the collection of Helen Espir, author of the book 'European Decoration on Oriental Porcelain 1700-1830'. From the Watney collection, and sold at Bonhams New Bond Street on 7th Noveber 2003. Collection labels for both the Espir and Watney collections. Condition: There is a small chip to the rim of the lid which has been filled and coloured - no other damage.
