A Good Quality Chinese Dragon Plate Dating From The Kangxi Period c1700-1720
An attractive and good quality Chinese dragon plate, decorated in underglaze blue and dating from the Kangxi period. The plate is decorated in the centre with a four-clawed dragon reaching for a flaming pearl within double underglaze blue circles. The rim is decorated with a band of swirls, breaking waves and flower heads. The reverse is decorated around the rim with plants and precious objects, and to the base with a six-character Chenghua mark within double underglaze blue circles. Diameter 15.8cm (6.2"). Dating: Kangxi (1662-1722). Condition: This plate is in excellent, undamaged, condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
