This is a fine quality Georgian, London longcase clock with a bolt and shutter, 6-pillar mechanism. The chinoiserie lacquered case is dark green/black with detailed Chinese scenes. To the hood is an arched pediment flanked by a pair or original giltwood finials, there are glass side hood apertures and gilded front column capitals. The arched silvered dial has fine engraving with date and seconds dial, there is a pull lever for the bolt and shutter maintaining power. A finely engineered six pillar mechanism striking the hours on a bell with an outside countwheel. Circa. 1770.
