Alongside the stunning display of Derby porcelain that will be showcased as part of the winter feature exhibition, Olivia Dean, chairman and secutary of the Derby Porcelain Society will take you on a journey, exploroing the history behind some of the great artists who have produced those very pieces.

There will be a focus on continuity of production in Derby which continues through to today, as well as how these great factories have the ability throughout time to respond to fashion trends, meet the needs of a growing market and also deliver bespoke items for their customers.

About Olivia Dean

Olivia has been a collector of Derby porcelain for 35 years, where her collection formed as an antidote to her husband's interest in eighteenth century glass! She is currently a trustee of the Royal Crown Derby Museum and having been a member of the Derby Porcelain Society for 20 years, she is now the chairman and secretary of a well established and enthusiastic society.
