Dave Hornik-Unger
  1. What do you deal in?

I specialise in Art Deco focusing specifically original and authentic pieces dating to the period of 1915 to 1960. My inventory displays the uncluttered items and geometric shapes that are iconic of these periods working perfectly in any contemporary or earlier room setting. We specialist in lighting, predominantly vintage, retro and mid-century modern decorative table, wall and ceiling lighting as well as art deco and modernist lighting.

  2. When did you start dealing?

I first started dealing in 1985.

  3. Best buy?

My best buy is a collection of Tiffany glass that was the original property of Tiffany's mosaic workshop manager Joseph Briggs, who was originally from Accrington.

  4. Top Tip for new collectors?

Buy perfect and complete at the price you can afford. Remember, one great piece is always worth more than ten run of the mill examples.

  5. Why do you choose to exhibit at fairs?

Antiques are "hands on" items and my clients need to touch and see them.
