Born 31 March 1875 in Chelsea, London, daughter of painter Mark Fisher. Studied under her father and later at the Slade School 1894–7. She married John Alexander Prout in 1908. Prout first exhibited at the N.E.A.C. from 1906, and became a member in 1925. She also exhibited at the R.A. from 1921, A.R.A. 1948; R.W.S. 1945 and had a one-man exhibition at the Beaux Arts Gallery in 1922. Prout taught drawing at the Hammersmith School of Arts and Crafts 1914 and lived at St Leonards-on-Sea.
