Blue Vase by Elfriede Balzar-Kopp

An outstanding, large & rare Westerwald pottery floor vase decorated in the studios of Elfried Balzar-Kopp with a superb 'retro' horse design in sgraffito and traditional enamels.

Elfriede Balzar-Kopp, became a celebrated German potter. She was born Elfriede Kopp in Berdorf, Luxembourg in 1904 and her surname changed to Balzar-Kopp upon marriage circa 1927. Collaborated closely in techniques  & glazes with Wim Mühlendyck.
