A quality French Empire period mantle clock surmounted by a bronze cherub putti holding a torch. A white marble case with black contrasting mouldings and finely detailed gilt adjustable feet. A gilt and enamel dial with finely cast bezel and dial centre. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with a silk suspension. Circa. 1820.
