A six chain cut steel chatelaine-complete. c 1840
A good quality cut steel chatelaine with six chains and six appendages. The clip is in two parts a pierced, engraved plaque and a hanging bar. The chains end in dog clips and the steel tools are- a thimble bucket, a pair of folding scissors, a tape measure, a pin cushion, a note book and a pencil (stamped S. Mordan).
The condition is good with some spotting to the steel but it does still retain a mirror finish.
