A Stable Interior by Bristow
Edmund Bristow, (1787 - 1876), Oil on wooden panel. 'A stable interior', signed by the artist, and also bearing period framing label on reverse. Bristow, known as the 'Little Master' often painted scenes of the working lives of the drovers who travelled the country with their animals. In this scene the drover in his red cap stands with his chestnut cob and collie dog while a sheep is attended to.
