  1. What do you deal in?

We specialise in Bristish porcelain and ceramics from 1750 to 1950.

  2. When did you start dealing?

We have been collectors for many years and then started selling when I retired in 2006.

  3. Best buy?

We were on holiday in Florida and went to an antique emporium in Naples.  Out on display was 'a pretty three piece teapot' (stand, pot and lid) for $28 and as it was over $20 we got a 10% discount.  Little did they know it was by Barr, Flight & Barr around 1810 in near perfect condition and worth around £500.

  4. Top Tip for new collectors?

There are so many options for collectors of ceramics - you could look to collect items that offer a complete variation of factories or style or just keep to one factory - whatever you decide, keep to it and build up a collection that is interesting and can be enjoyed.

  5. Why do you choose to exhibit at fairs?

You meet so many interesting people at fairs from all walks of life - buying/selling off the internet can be rewarding but there is nothing better than talking about and feeling the item you are interested in and as a dealer passing on knowledge.
