Chester’s Farm Antiques

This iconic design from the German firm WMF is known as "The First Cuckoo". It was manufactured in about 1906, and was shown as model 131 in the WMF Catalogue for that year. The mirror is a classic example of Art Nouveau, knowns as Jugendstil in Germany. Marked with the WMF three letter mark, EP for Electro-plated, I/O indicating the silver thickness, and OX indicating that the silver was oxidised to a grey colour. The bevelled edge mirror, backing and strut are original. Condition is very good, nice antique patina. 37 cm tall. Price £1200
